My love of Weebly has really crashed now. I thought I would upgrade A Simple Kind of Fear to remove the Weebly banner. There was a "connect" (basic) plan - $60 a year or $8 a month -  that, when I compared it, I was given this chart:

Turned out, this chart is "wrong" according to the help person I spoke with when I still couldn't remove the banner after signing up. But because I'd upgraded to the site, suddenly I lost my audio/video capabilities on both The Reluctant Monkey & A Simple Kind of Fear. I had to upgrade A Simple Kind of Fear again just to get it back to what it was. So, up until August, I was paying $45 a year for 10 Weebly sites. Now? It's $144 a year for 1 site. (Or $18 a month.) I'm definitely NOT paying that amount for two sites that only serve the purpose of entertaining myself and possibly a handful of people.

I am going to start migrating the stories that have music/videos over to A Simple Kind of Fear's site. That would include 31 Things to do in Sleepyside When You're Dead and 31 More Things, The Glen Road musical, and Raven's Hollow. Once that's done, I'll move the rest.

And seriously. How crappy is it to have a "compare chart" that is totally wrong on what features are available?

So there you have it. Years before the Trixie Belden books were published, there was already a Trixie Regan out there, rofl.

It crossed my mind today to wonder: Does anyone actually write fanfic any more? I don't just mean Trixie stories, but any fanfiction at all? I never seem to hear anything about it. Though, in some ways, I feel like it went mainstream in the form of series "reboots." I watched a few episodes of the Nancy Drew series on CW and I watched both seasons of the Hardy Boys on HULU and it feels very much like they simply filmed someone's fanfiction. Heck, the Star Wars sequels felt very much like they were based on fanfic. I remember there was a period when Amazon was supposed to allow people to sell some forms of fanfic, but I don't know if that ever really happened or how successful it was. I dunno. Maybe it's still going strong somewhere, but I just don't seem to hear/read about it like I did fifteen or twenty years ago.

So, here I am again. I miss writing. I just never seem to have time. My job is 9 hours a day (no paid lunch) plus 2 1/2 hours for commuting, and I'm in the middle of GIS certification, plus my husband is currently living in another state caring for an elderly relative... Free time is a rarity at the moment and has been for almost 2 years. At this point, lol, I may not really be able to return to my love of writing until I retire, which would mean I started this when I was a 20-something young mom and won't finish it until I'm a 60ish empty-nester. XD
